My name is Janne Parviainen and I was born in 1984. I live in Pieksämäki, a village in the mid of the Finnish Lakeland. My passion for fishing came from my dad who took me fishing when I was just few years old. I missed many typical youngster activities when I grew up because fishing was much more interesting than going to the disco.
When it comes to different techniques of fishing, trolling is closest to my heart. I have trained it actively since mid of 1990's. I was only 10 years old when I participated in a trolling competition for the first time of my life. Since 2005 trolling competitions has taken all of my spare time during summer and autumn.
The time I spent on boats has grown every year as there is always something new to learn and test. During the open water season I spent about 300-400 hours trolling plus other styles of fishing.
I can also guide you different casting techniques (jig bait, pike casting...) and also passive techniques (nets, winter bait fishing) are familiar to me. This all has caused that my hobby has turned into my job. I have graduated as fishing guide in spring 2015.
Hi! Eemeli Oksiala here! I am a trained fishing guide and youth worker. I was born in 1993 and was the lastborn child in a family of fishermen. Like my father before me, I am at home in the wilderness and have had a love for fishing since I was a small child. Fishing and nature are more than a passion for me - they are my way of life.
I enjoy fishing during every season of the year, it doesn’t matter if it’s summer or winter. I constantly yearn to increase my knowledge about fish, fishing and how to better understand nature. To successfully learn how to catch fish is no linear task you can learn from a book; you need to try it yourself! I use modern technology when I fish, which I think is interesting and gives one a different perspective to fishing. I enjoy spending the night in nature and cooking delicious food from nature on the campfire. Nothing beats a leisurely camping trip!
